023 | Receiving Love

With the exception of messages, calls, and cards I received from people I love and people who love me, the day unfolded not unlike any other. As I reflected on the expressions of love from everyone, I realized how this was all new to me. I was struck by the newness of receiving love. In this feeling of being loved, I believe that I am lovable; in this belief, I practice receiving love. While I can’t say I’ve mastered it, I definitely am practicing it. For the first time in 48 birthdays, it’s clear to me that I am free from the endless loop of unprocessed trauma.

In this episode, I share how the newness of receiving love struck me and the realizations I had on my birthday.

“As I reflected on the feelings of love, I was struck by the newness of receiving love. And in the belief that I’m worthy of love, I practice receiving love.”
