She is a writer who has written for—and been featured in—publications such as The Sunday Times, Psychology Today, The Huffington Post, and CNBC, among many others. She previously worked as the Director of the International Investment Bank, Dresdner Kleinwort, and a corporate image and personal branding consultant for CMB Image before shifting her focus to championing people. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Guelph and completed her Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge.
Mandy joins us today to discuss what it means to be enough. She describes what it was like to grow up as the “good girl.” She underscores the difference between “fitting in” and “belonging” and explains how seeking approval from others has impacted her wellbeing. Mandy also highlights how learning— breakdown by breakdown—to let go of external validation opens us up to who we really are.
“‘Belonging’ is where I can bring my unique sense of self and all my humanity that were not permitted to ‘fit in.’”
