041 | On the Upside of Healing

“Am I kidding myself, or am I on the upside of healing?” This thought comes in and out of my consciousness a lot.

I convince myself that I’ve spent countless hours doing the work, crying buckets of tears, pushing away bodily feelings, and naming emotions—I’ve done this so many times that I’ve created, and defer to, an internal operating system that invites me to look for signs that let me know that I am, in fact, on the upside of healing from trauma.

In this episode of the Trauma Hiders Club, I share a list of evidence I’ve noticed over time that tells me I’m on the “healing” side—if there is such a side to the work. I describe how I look at my personal power differently now and reveal what the Trauma Hiders Club means to me.

“If you don’t have proof of the shifts you’re making, slow down, notice, then slow down again, and notice some more.” - Karen Goldfinger Baker
