011 | Accept – Healing from Trauma Takes Time
Healing from trauma takes time, and it certainly doesn’t have the required amount of time. There’s no date, no deadline. Nothing says you have to be healed by this or that point in time. The weight of emotional pain from trauma is heavy and huge. Move through it one step at a time, at your own pace, in a way that you can handle. If someone promises you that you’ll be completely healed, restored to your full glory, after taking their “proven” steps in a certain number of sessions, don’t walk away - run. And run fast, because no other timeline is right for you than yours - it’s the most beautiful, excellent timeline.
In this episode, I discuss the fifth rule of the Trauma Hiders Club: Healing from trauma takes time. I explain how healing from trauma means working through emotional pain at your own pace. I share the different things you need to unpack while dealing with trauma. I also highlight that nobody should tell you when you should be healed and underscore the value of respecting the pain, the time, and letting them unravel.
